FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Where is Destin Located? Destin is on the Florida Panhandle, mid-way between Panama City and Pensacola, Florida.

2. Where is Easy Street? Easy Street started off as two private homes on a private cul-de-sac, the Coral Cabana and the Pineapple Cabana. We have since built a third house, the Banana Cabana. In addition to the Easy Street homes, we now have a several other homes, Aqua Terra and My Beach House in the upscale Terra Cotta neighborhood next to Easy Street and the same distance to the beach. We also have Aloha, Southern Comfort and Beachinit all located within in a mile from Easy Street in the Crystal Beach area of Destin, Florida.

3. How far is the beach from your houses? Coral Cabana, Pineapple Cabana and Banana Cabana are all approximately 1,200 feet from the Gulf of Mexico, Aqua Terra is the closest to the beach about 500 feet and My Beach House is about 800 feet from the water. Aloha and Southern Comfort are both less than 1,500 feet from the water and Beachinit is about an 8 minute walk to the water.

4. Is it easy to get to the beach? Coral Cabana, Pineapple Cabana and the Banana Cabana all share a private asphalt drive with the Beach Pointe Town Houses and takes less than five minutes to walk to the beach. Aqua Terra and My Beach House, in Terra Cotta takes approximately the same time to get to the beach. Aloha, Southern Comfort and Beachinit all are less than a 10 minute walk to the beach. For your convenience we provide a wagon for our younger guests and a cooler on wheels at all houses to make the trip to the beach that much easier.

5. Do you have to cross any roads? Yes, to get to the beach you need to cross the pedestrian friendly Scenic Highway 98. This is a 25 MPH road with speed bumps and numerous pedestrian cross walks.

6. Do you allow pets? Yes, we allow up to two well behaved dogs, or one cat at any of our homes. An additional fee applies however for pets. Pets can not be left alone in the house without being caged, and Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds. We do provide, at no additional cost, a small, medium or large sized cage if the need arises.

7. Do you allow smoking? SMOKING is never allowed in any of our houses. Smoking is permitted outside, and we have tried to create a comfortable smoking area for guests in all of the houses. Guests are required to properly dispose of their smoking materials, and there is a fee if we need to clean up smoking material for guests.

8. What do you need to bring to Easy Street? Easy Street homes are fully furnished and include one set of bed linens for each bed (including pillows, sheets and blankets), bath towels based on number of guests, dishes, cooking utensils, an initial supply of toilet paper, bath soap and trash bags. You will need to bring your own beach towels, and you may also want to bring (or buy there) additional toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, dish washer soap, detergent for laundry, spices, trash bags, foil, saran wrap and other paper products. We also provide a blender and a crock-pot.

9. Is there a grocery store near by? There are three major supermarkets, both within one to three miles of Easy Street (Publix, Winn Dixie & Wall-Mart Super Center)

10. Do you require a Security Damage Deposit? Yes, the refundable security deposit is $500, and is refunded within 7 days if there is no damage following your stay and all rules are followed. If we allow Spring Breakers, we may require up to $100.00 Damage Security Deposit for each guest.

11. When are house keys mailed? We don’t mail keys; we actually use a lockbox system. Two weeks before you arrive, we e-mail you specific driving directions and the lockbox code. The lockbox contains a front door key and is used to initially enter and then to lock the house when you leave. Two sets of day to day use keys with wrist straps, are located on hooks in the kitchen.

12. Do you only allow weekly rentals? From March through approximately September 15th, we primarily accept weekly rentals, Saturday to Saturday however there are exceptions so please inquire. After September 15th through the end of March, we allow shorter reservations. We allow monthly rentals based on availability, during January and February.

13. How many guests can stay in the house? The weekly rental rate is based on 8 guests, an additional $100 per person fee is charged for each additional guest up to the house maximum. (Infants under age 2 are not included in the guest count).

14. Do all of your houses have a private pools, and are they heated? Yes, all the houses at Easy Street have private pools. Some houses also have a community pool such as Aqua Terra, My Beach House and Beachinit. The Coral Cabana and Pineapple Cabana both have pool heaters but there is an extra charge to heat these pools. Aqua Terra and Beachinit both have solar heaters with no additional charge for pool heating.

15. Is there an extra cleaning fee in addition to the weekly rent? No, cleaning service before you arrive and after you leave is included in the weekly rental fee. Shorter-term rentals, however, four days or less require an additional cleaning fee.

16. Is there shopping in the area? Destin has great shopping; there are two major shopping centers within three miles of Easy Street, “The Commons”, which has most of the major department and specialty stores, and “The Outlet Center”, which features most of the major Factory Outlet Stores.

17. What is the closest airport? And how far is it from Easy Street? Okaloosa County Airport was just recently updated and enlarged. The airport is approximately 10 miles from Easy Street.

18. Is there an age limit to rent Easy Street? The minimum age to rent any of the Easy Street houses is 25 years old and that guest must be staying for the entire rental period. Some exceptions are made.

19. Do you recommend Trip Insurance? We recommend Trip Insurance, not just for storms and hurricanes, but for any event that may shorten or cancel your trip. For additional information on Trip Insurance please Click Here.

20. What is your policy if there is a hurricane? We provide full or partial refunds or alternate reservations in the event of a hurricane. (Please see Rental Policies, item # 10)

21. Where is the nearest hospital? The Scared Heart Hospital is located approximately 5 miles from Easy Street heading East on Highway 98.

22. Do you accept credit cards? Yes, we accept both Visa and MasterCard, along with personal checks (if received at least 30 days before arrival). Cashier’s Checks and Money Orders are also acceptable.
